The 4th Street Railroad crossing by Casey’s General Store is set to close next week, according to St. Ansgar city officials.

The construction on the railroad is set to sart on May 14. The Department of Transportation needs to redo some construction they did two years ago, city officials said, and predict that the project will be wrapped by by Friday, May 18.

Traffic will have to be diverted around the 4th Street crossing, but city officials don’t believe other crossings in town will be closed off, and are working on getting detour signs posted.

“Hopefully It won’t take more than a week,” St. Ansgar Mayor Norm Johnson said. “That’s what they tell me.”
