The baseball and softball teams had about as much fun in Tuesday’s games as a slinky in a one-story house.

The girls traveled to Charles City to get routed 12-0, while boys didn’t fair much better, dropping 12-2 to Clear Lake.

The losses come as a disappointment, sure. But going out and winning every single game is trickier than trying to spread cold butter on a stale piece of toast.

But neither loss overshadows the fact that both teams laid a beat down on rival Osage the previous Friday.

The Saints gave the Green Devils a flying elbow off the top rope, Macho Man Randy Savage style, with the boys skunking Osage 13-0 and the girls winning 9-0.

Braden Powers and Collin Kramer each had two hits in the contest, helping to lead the baseball team to victory while Hali Anderson led the softball team with four hits in four at-bats.
